A 15 minute walk away is the Carpenters Arms in Metherell, in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Pub food is served there most nights.

There is a large Tesco store in Callington alongside the usual town facilties, 10 minutes in the car.

From the site, you can easily walk the mile to the National Trust's Cotehele House and cafe.

Five minutes by car is the Tamar Donkey Park and Playbarn - its really very popular with the kids!

A litlle further is the riverside village of Calstock where there are cafes, the riverside Tamar Arms, and from where you can catch the scenic Tamar Valley line into Plymouth,

Further upstream are the Tamar Trails, a recreational area developed out of the huge Devon Great Consols Mine.

In fact, the whole area around Copper Pot is a World Heritage Site: the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape. You can be walking down a public footpath, and suddenly come across an abandoned mine complex ....

We are 25 minutes away from Whitsand Bay and 40 minutes from Looe and Polperro on the south Cornwall coast. We are also 40 minutes from Bude, Port Isaac and the other North Cornish resorts.
