Carpenter Arms

15th century pub in Lower Metherell which is a 10 minute walk from our campsite. This pub offers lovely pub food most nights but Mondays and Thursdays are pizza night with their own pizza oven (this can change in high season). Food is served in the separate restaurant area with an open fire in the winter or in the bar area which allows dogs. The pub also offers takeaway if you don’t feel like eating out.

Who’d Have Thought It Inn

This pub is a half an hour walk from the campsite or 7 minutes in the car. Set in the village of St Dominick, from the restaurant there are views over to the Tamar Bridge on clear days. The pub offers homemade locally sourced classic pub dishes with seasonal specials. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant areas but are allowed everywhere else with dog treats available- just let them know when you book.

The Boot Inn

Situated in Calstock an hour’s walk away or 15 minutes in the car. This is a family run pub with log fires. The father/son team in the kitchen cook locally sourced homemade food. Perfect place to stop for lunch if you are going for a walk from the campsite.

Also situated in Calstock but on the bank of the River Tamar. The pub is situated opposite the village playground and very dog friendly. The pub offers the usual pub classics.

Great pub for food and music, just up from the River Tamar in Gunnislake. This pub is very dog friendly with a beer garden out the front.

The perfect place in Calstock for an ice-cream on a hot day! Along with having many flavours to choose from you can enjoy your ice-cream on the decking overlooking the River Tamar. For those of you who are interested in skill of ice-cream making there is also an academy offering courses in artisan gelato.
